CHURCH PICNIC SUNDAY, JUNE 8, 12:30-3:30, BOWDOIN PARK

 Take a break, soak up some sunshine, enjoy the river views, and welcome summer with your good friends at FCC UCC at this year's church picnic, Sunday, June 8.  We'll meet at Pavilion 2 at Bowdoin Park around 12:30 p.m. (right after church) for an afternoon of fun, fellowship, and food.  Please bring something to grill and a dish to share--salad, dessert, chips, or whatever other picnic food you wish.  We'll provide beverages and paper goods.  Looking forward to seeing you all there! - Your friendly Church Growth and Membership Committee (Anne Cross, Dotty Martinez, Leslie Offutt White)

Youthful Pentecost Workers—5/11/2008

Alan, Alex, Benjamin, Brandon, Emma, Jacob, Joshua, Lulu, Leah, Meghan, Rebecca, Shantel, Shaniqua, & Sophia

 …were God’s messengers during our Pentecost Worship.  They were brave, creative and energetic.  Leah Wachsmuth read “The Promises of God”.  The congregation was treated to the phenomena of the coming of the Holy Spirit as the children launched twirling doves and tongues of fire from the church balcony.  Together they joined singing and dancing gracefully to “Spirit of the Living God.” Finally they led a charge thru our sanctuary aisles with banging, clanging wind chimes and flaming red streamers to waken the worshipers as Barbara Rhudy gracefully danced with them to alert us that the Holy Spirit (The Advocate/The Helper) is with us.

 SUNDAY SCHOOL

 It is hard to believe the last day of Sunday School will be on Sunday, June 8th.  Thank you so much to all our teachers and nursery volunteers who have given so much time and talent to be with our children. 

The Children & Youth Committee would like to invite you to a brief meeting after church on June 1st so we may share our concerns about he Sunday School program for the fall.

We all have many gifts and talents to share.  Certainly teaching a Sunday School class is a great opportunity to help our children grow in faith.    Please consider this opportunity and feel free to contact a member of our Committee to discuss this wonderful opportunity.

Costs for camps are $150.00 for Senior Camp and $200.0 for both other camps.

Your Church’s Camp Medusa agent will collect the money before the June 1st deadline.  If there are any Church Scholarships, your agent will inform you of such and you will pay the remainder.  Please check about he scholarships so you can put the appropriate amount on your check.  Thank you.

Remember, all forms should be given to your Church Agent who will send them to the Registrar.

The sessions this year are looking great, full of busy schedules, and of course, good food, entertainment and much more
